AutoZone Selects Edgenet for Global Data Synchronization

Edgenet announced today that AutoZone (NYSE:AZO), the largest Automotive Aftermarket retailer in the United States, has selected Edgenet to provide product data management services. Edgenet announced its entry and commitment to the Automotive Aftermarket industry in July of 2008 by joining the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) and committing resources to participate in the development of industry standards such as PIES and ACES. Edgenet will provide GS1 GDSN™ and Marketing data pool services that incorporate the AAIA’s PIES and ACES standards. Edgenet is the only company that offers a complete data management solution that incorporates these aspects of product data in a single offering. For AutoZone and its suppliers, this results in unprecedented collaboration on product attributes, imagery and supporting documentation for both logistics and selling purposes.

(Vocus/PRWEB ) May 29, 2009 -- Edgenet announced today that AutoZone (NYSE:AZO), the largest Automotive Aftermarket retailer in the United States, has selected Edgenet to provide product data management services. Edgenet announced its entry and commitment to the Automotive Aftermarket industry in July of 2008 by joining the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) and committing resources to participate in the development of industry standards such as PIES and ACES. Bill Hackney, AutoZone’s Vice President of Merchandising Support, Customer Satisfaction said, “Edgenet will enhance our vendors’ capabilities to publish and maintain content that is complete, accurate and compelling” referring to the ability to synchronize product data on a much larger scale than previously possible. “We believe Edgenet’s capabilities will position AutoZone and our vendors to further leverage our core competencies and satisfy more customers”, said Hackney. AutoZone is looking to 4th Quarter of 2009 to begin receiving data from its suppliers through Edgenet. “Great product data is a significant competitive advantage in today’s market”, said Tom Frederick, President and Chief Executive Officer of Edgenet.
