Timmons Group recently participated in the 2009 Construction Career Days Event which took place April 7-9, 2009 in Winston-Salem, NC
Greensboro, NC (Vocus/PRWEB ) April 16, 2009 -- Timmons Group, an ENR 500 Design Firm and leader in multi-disciplined civil engineering consulting services, recently participated in the 2009 Construction Career Days Event which took place April 7-9, 2009 in Winston-Salem, NC. The Construction Industry Council of Winston-Salem, the North Carolina Department of Transportation and Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools sponsored the event in partnership with Forsyth Technical Community College.
Construction Career Days are designed to expose 10th -12th grade students from five surrounding school districts to the exciting opportunities and careers available in construction. During the event, students had the opportunity to operate heavy equipment, learn about various school programs the focus on these fields, talk to professionals about their chosen careers and test their skills in many hands-on exhibits and competitions. This year the planning committee expanded the career day to include architecture, engineering, testing and construction management and invited design professionals to participate in the event. Timmons Group, along with associates from various architectural, environmental engineering and materials testing firms from the throughout the Triad area participated in the community event.
