For One San Francisco Print Management Firm, Bright Young Minds And 'Greener' Planet Grow Together
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) March 12, 2009 -- Oliveri and Company, LLC, a San Francisco-based print management firm has joined the philanthropic organization '1% For The Planet' and launched its own supporting program called 'Our Kids. Our Planet.'
After becoming a member of 1% For The Planet (1% FTP), Oliveri and Company decided to direct its annual 1% FTP contributions specifically to five (5) youth-focused, environmental organizations committed to the personal development and achievement of underprivileged urban children. Company president Andrew Oliveri, "Each of these organizations has its own unique programs and approach. However, they all embody several ideals which we believe deserve our immediate support. These include, reconnecting (or introducing children for the first time) to the natural world around them, educating with programs that are fun, empowering and esteem-building, and finally helping to develop leadership and problem-solving skills to last a lifetime".
The five youth-focused organizations were earmarked by Oliveri and Company specifically because they all strive to help lessen our impact on our environment while helping to empower children and teens through inspiring educational programs geared towards underprivileged or at-risk students.
'Far too many of our kids and the schools they attend are severely neglected. Not just neglected, they are in danger. Critically underfinanced school districts throughout the U.S. continue to experience the pain of this crisis. This pain is experienced in the form of budget cuts resulting in classrooms without supplies as basic as paper. Student illiteracy, dropouts, and the resulting deadly street violence continue to play out in an ongoing vicious cycle. Fortunately, the news is not all bad and the gears for great improvement and success are already in motion. For this reason, we created a program we proudly call 'Our Kids. Our Planet.' as a means to support these five inspiring, youth-focused organizations,' says Oliveri.
