OLS Trading, in partnership with the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is successful in keeping all remaining USGBC assets from the landfill confirming that USGBC practices what it preaches.

Despite the current economic climate, as the amount of excess furniture, fixtures and equipment continues to increase, the need for out of the box solutions to keep these assets out of the landfill increases as well. Our model, successful for over 10 years, continues to prove timely as evidenced in our partnership with the USGBC.

"Ever since I can remember, the buzz on the street has been that excess FF&E has very little value. Since people's behavior is based on that erroneous theory, they encounter that outcome. However, looking at options early in the planning stages can change the mindset which, in turn, ensures an optimal outcome rather than a reactionary one.
Most dealers of furniture and equipment are at capacity, and many are charging their clients to remove their assets or purchase them for very low amounts. With adequate time you have options. With options you can maximize the outcome" confirms Scott Cornblatt, President of OLS Trading, Inc.

Businesses are paying increasing attention to best practices that counter global warming, benefit the environment, and provide community support with a "green mindset." Embracing this mindset is a priority and best practice for OLS Trading, Inc. Our creative and innovative methods (including our AESI Process™ which aligns our goals with our clients goals by sharing in the success of the project), optimize financial returns while reducing cost and time expenditure for the client, assist companies in reaching sustainable outcomes as well as acquiring LEED credits, minimize the amount of liquidated assets that are disposed of in landfills, and find new service life through repurposing.

In an effort to reduce carbon footprints, businesses are not only taking advantage of environmentally positive options for asset disposal but seeking information and access to green building practices. In order to assist our clients in their greater demand for environmentally aware models, OLS partners with the USGBC. Dedicated to expanding green building practices and offering education to make green buildings available to everyone within a generation, the USGBC, a 501 (c)(3) non profit organization, certified through its LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design)* AP Program, sustainable businesses, homes, hospitals, schools, and neighborhoods.

USGBC engaged OLS to deliver a sustainable outcome in line with the ideals and objectives. From engagement to conclusion, OLS successfully completed the sale and removal of all assets in ten days and prevented disposal in the landfill, thus assuring USGBC not only a favorable return on all assets sold, but compliance with the green requirements and sustainability of the USCBC in spirit and performance.

This partnering approach enables OLS Trading to optimize and completely manage the services for clients busy with renovations, moves, closings, business mergers, and acquisitions assisting in not only the green disposal of excess assets but also the acquisition of green assets. Our approach reduces the impact on the environment, targets and attracts ultimate consumers, permits the seller to bypass the middle man while returning greater value to our clients and assuring that items of lesser value have a higher potential for sale rather than being consigned to the landfill. The AESI Process™ employs strategies such as asset matching, cross-pollination, online competitive bidding, and simultaneous multi-location sales.
