"Appearing in the Tournament of Roses Parade for the fourth year is an honor, but it's even more special this year because of our partnership with the Veterans Medical Leadership Council Returning Warriors Fund," said Patricia Gomez, president of The Cowgirls Historical Foundation. "Our veterans are true heroes and we are proud to dedicate not only this ride in their honor in front of a global audience but also a substantial portion of our fundraising proceeds as well," says Gomez.
The cowgirls will be assisting at the 7th Annual Benefit Luncheon on Friday, November 6, 2009 at the Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa. They will be dressed in authentic vintage western outfits from the golden Hollywood era of the mid-twentieth century and will greet guests as the arrive for the pre-luncheon reception.
The Cowgirls Historical Foundation members are Ambassadors of Western Heritage and the Equestrian Life Style. Based in Tempe Arizona, their initiatives are met through creative educational programs and services, active community service and volunteerism, and participation in local, state, and national events.
