Tasteful Art on the Avenues: Local Artisans Join Forces to Benefit Children's Memorial Hospital
The Armitage Halsted Webster Merchants Association will host Tasteful Art on the Avenues: an evening of fine art, gourmet cuisine, and boutique shopping on Friday, June 19th from 6:00p.m. to 9:00p.m.
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) June 10, 2009 -- The Armitage Halsted Webster Merchants Association will host Tasteful Art on the Avenues: an evening of fine art, gourmet cuisine, and boutique shopping on Friday, June 19th from 6:00p.m. to 9:00p.m.
Tasteful Art on the Avenues features the work of local artisans and chefs on display at Lincoln Park's finest boutiques. Participants include Barker and Meowsky, Kiehls Cosmetics, the Black Duck, Tarantino's, Lush Cosmetics, Thread Lounge, 1154 Lill, and Boka, among others.

| | - Tabula Tua is offering tea & petite sweets inspired by artist Cristina Salusti's re-imagined tea sets. Salusti scours church fairs, garage sales and flea markets for the one-of-a-kind pieces in her collection. Her painting and sandblasting techniques give these discarded items new life as completely original works of art. (1015 West Armitage Avenue)
- Mint Julep is serving up delicious creations from Chef Giuseppe Tentori of Boka. Tentori was recognized by Food & Wine magazine as one of the best chefs of 2008. Enjoy Tentori's signature hors d'oeuvres and cocktails along side the work of Chicago artist, Susan Volk. Volk is a classically trained oil painter who studied at the Chicago Art Institute. - Dog-a-holics is featuring the work of nationally acclaimed artist Matthew Lew. Lew is a painter/ photographer who creates cutting edge contemporary works. His work has been featured on ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and on HGTV's Devine Design. Lew is a Chicago resident and was recently named Chicago's Reader's Choice "Best Emerging Artist". - Second Child is collaborating with Chicago artist Jacob Katz Mosbacher. Mosbacher's work reflects his exuberance and colorful imagination as well as his interpretive eye. Mosbacher is affiliated with Project Onward, an open studio for adults with disabilities housed in the Chicago Cultural Center. Mosbacher is delighted to be apart of Tasteful Art on the Avenues, as he is a recipient of services from Children's Memorial Hospital. (954 West Armitage Avenue)

Attendees can expect exclusive, evening-only discounts and promotions from many of the participating merchants. Any purchase made during the evening will automatically enter the purchaser into a raffle for $1,000 in merchandise and gift certificates from local restaurants and boutiques.
Wristbands are available for purchase at all participating boutiques for $10.00. Wristbands may also be purchased in advance at the following locations: Dog-a-holics, Mint Julep, Tabula Tua for $7.00. All proceeds from Tasteful Art on the Avenues benefit Children's Memorial Hospital of Chicago. Tasteful Art on the Avenues spans Armitage Avenue between Kenmore Street and Halsted Street.
