The Afterschool Alliance Partners with BAM Radio Network to Launch Afterschool Alliance Radio

Afterschool advocates take to the online radio waves.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) April 25, 2009 -- Today, the BAM Radio Network (BRN), a joint project of Moving & Learning and Jackstreet Media Ventures, announced a partnership with the Afterschool Alliance to launch ASA Radio (www.afterschoolalliance.org). The new media resource will keep afterschool advocates and supporters abreast of the latest developments in the on-going effort to ensure that all children have access to affordable, quality afterschool programs. Available on demand, the program will be nanocasted on the Afterschool Alliance website and distributed to members through the organization's newsletter. The ASA Radio launch is part of BAM Radio Network's continued campaign to reach underserved communities.

"I'm delighted that the Afterschool Alliance has this opportunity to work with BAM Radio Network to provide timely and important information about the myriad ways in which afterschool programs keep kids safe, inspire them to learn and help working families," said Afterschool Alliance Executive Director Jodi Grant. "Our very first guest is Judge Glenda Hatchett, a long-time friend of the Afterschool Alliance, a deeply committed supporter of afterschool programs and the emcee of ceremonies for our Afterschool for All Challenge next week. Each year, the Challenge brings hundreds of advocates from across the country to our nation's capitol to speak to their Members of Congress about the importance of afterschool programs."

"We're pleased with the opportunity to collaborate with Jodi Grant on ASA Radio and are confident the program will help expand the reach of the Afterschool Alliance and spread the message about the importance of afterschool programs," said Rae Pica, co-founder of the BAM Radio Network.

About the Afterschool Alliance

The Afterschool Alliance works with the Administration, the U.S. Congress, governors, mayors and advocates across the country. Today the Afterschool Alliance boasts more than 25,000 afterschool program partners and our publications reach more than 65,000 interested individuals every month.

About BAM Radio Network

The BAM Radio Network was originally launched to address the severe imbalance in parenting practices caused by the "commercialization of parenting" and the emphasis on intellectual development that excludes the critical role of physical education. Created by leading early childhood experts, the programming has expanded to include diverse voices and insights from the leading experts in the field of early childhood development and the education of youth. The network is a joint venture between New Hampshire-based Moving & Learning and Los Angeles-based Jackstreet Media Ventures LLC. The programming is produced by Emmy winning broadcaster Errol Smith and distributed through the Affiliate Nanocasting Network.
