Waldorf School Introduces Tuition Discount to Address Economy Woes

The Waldorf School of Cape Cod in Bourne, Massachusetts, recently announced plans to offer a 25% discount on tuition for all new grades students in an effort to ease the financial strain many families are facing in the current economy.

Bourne, MA (PRWEB) April 3, 2009 -- To address the financial struggles many families are facing in the current economy, the Waldorf School of Cape Cod in Bourne recently announced a 25% discount for new grades students.

In addition, the school has revamped its tuition assistance program with a goal of broadening its economic diversity within the school population.

Gary Cannon, the school's Administrator, explained, "Our hope is that the 25% discount for new grades students and the expansion of tuition assistance will make Waldorf education more accessible to those who seek it and that it will encourage families to take a closer look at what we have to offer before dismissing the independent school option outright based on the cost of tuition."

Mr. Cannon added that the school's Board of Trustees recognized the need to keep tuition increases to a minimum this year and voted at their January board meeting to not increase tuition for the early childhood program at all, while increasing grades tuition by a modest 3%.

The Board also agreed to retain its current sibling discount policy.

Waldorf education is the fastest growing school movement in the world with over 1,000 schools worldwide serving students from preschool to high school. For 90 years, Waldorf schools have embraced a developmental and experiential approach to education that integrates the arts with academics. Waldorf teachers teach to the whole child (intellectual, emotional, physical, and social) in order to prepare children for life as well-balanced adults.

The Waldorf School of Cape Cod is a non-sectarian, non-profit organization serving families through Barnstable, Plymouth, and Bristol counties. The school is affiliated with both the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America and the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America. As the only Waldorf school in southeastern Massachusetts, the school serves over 150 children each year in its parent-child classes, preschool, kindergarten, and grades one through eight.

Further information about the school--located near the Bourne Rotary at 85 Cotuit Road--is available by contacting the school's Enrollment Director, Meredith Hunnibell, at 508-759-7499, or by visiting the school's comprehensive web site at www.waldorfschoolofcapecod.org.
