Two-Time NBA MVP Steve Nash and vitaminwater to Host "Nash Bash" at 2009 NBA All-Star Weekend

Tickets to the Friday night event now on sale at stevenash.org.

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) January 20, 2009 -- With NBA All-Star Weekend fast approaching, Steve Nash has announced the sale of tickets to his Foundation's Friday night event - the vitaminwater® Nash Bash to benefit the Steve Nash Foundation.

"All-Star's in Phoenix this year, and I'm really looking forward to hosting some of my Foundation's best supporters, new friends and just having my family around. All-Star Weekend is one of the most entertaining events of the year, and, for me, it's another opportunity to mesh my job with my other passions."

The vitaminwater Nash Bash will take place Friday, February 13, 2009, at the Mondrian Scottsdale. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Steve Nash Foundation's local initiative, Educare Arizona, bringing best practices in early childhood education to the Greater Phoenix area. Nationally, Educare is the creation of the Buffett Early Childhood Fund, and is supported throughout the country by anchor funders from Bill Gates to Warren Buffett. In Arizona, the Steve Nash Foundation is working closely with the Ibis Foundation, the John Whiteman Foundation, Southwest Human Development and the Governor's Office for Children, Youth and Families.

"Educare is one of the best things we can do for our community," said Steve. "It's a holistic approach to the child and family, and will make an incredible impact nationally."

Educare Arizona is set to break ground next year.

Last year, Nash worked with his film company, Meathawk, to create his own commercials for vitaminwater. The viral spots debuted on YouTube and were widely distributed, with even NBATV's Ahmad Rashad, Chris Webber and Gary Payton taking time to enjoy the spots on air.

Tickets to the vitaminwater Nash Bash are available at the Foundation's website, stevenash.org, via the All-Star Weekend banner. Individual tickets are $1,300; tickets to an exclusive dinner with Nash prior to the party are available for a $13,000 donation to the Steve Nash Foundation. Contributions are eligible for a tax receipt. The Steve Nash Foundation is a 501(c)(3) and registered Canadian charity.
