Best Buy Understands All-In-Vision

All-In-Vision a 501 c 3 non profit organization is recognized by Best Buy (one of the nation's largest consumer electronic retailers)-through in-kind donations and grants.

Detroit, MI (PRWEB) November 3, 2008 -- "Many of the nation's lowest income households, lack even the most basic technology..."

"Our youth need computer technology in order thrive in a global society- to prepare for good 21st century jobs, and to make informed personal and political choices..."

Jennifer Pomeraning, (a spokes person for the Taylor Michigan Best Buy Store location) personally initiated the grant writing process on behalf of All-In-Vision in order to support the mission of the organization to provide creative outlets for inner-city youth after school on the weekends and during recess from school. After donating flash drives to support the summer after school program (through in-kind resources from the local Taylor Michigan Best Buy store location), Jennifer Pomeraning contacted the founder of All-In-Vision (Janean Allen) personally to inform her that she wanted to further support the organization's purpose through a personal invitation to submit a grant proposal on behalf of the "Best Buy Children's Foundation" an organization developed by Best Buy who invests in organizations and programs committed to making differences in the lives of children." All In Vision successfully received a grant from the Best Buy Children's Foundation this year!

Safety is one of the top three reasons parents utilize after-school programs. Federal statistics show that 3:00 pm is the peak time of day where persons under 18 can be involved in violent crimes and other risky behavior including drug and alcohol abuse. Which is the reason All-In-Vision was started--to give working parents the after-school support they need and allow the children to focus of important attributes such as altruism and arts--one specific program being the their photo-documentary projects.

"All-In-Vision provides a creative outlet. Because of the artistic mediums offered All-In-Vision is able to draw on personal interests each individual participant has and use this to reinforce what is learned in the normal classroom setting. Many inner-city children do not venture beyond city limits whereas their suburban counterparts are often traveling the world soaking up life and nature first hand.

Having this program will at least provide a means to supplement our inner-city participants' lack of travel- through the use of imagination and self exploration with the photo-documentary projects offered by All-In-Vision," says principal Houghten Elementary Detroit Michigan.
One participant states, "When 5:35pm rolls around the kids are not ready to leave the program. They are all engrossed in their photo-documentary projects. The kids want to stay until 7pm and one child said she wanted to stay the night."
